Why This Site

My brand has actually been around for quite a while.

I’m a writer. Like most of my kind, not that easy to get to know. This is a starting point, partly a site map of works spread across the Internet and sometimes between the pages of physical books and partly a piecemeal autobiography of an old guy largely confined to a couch. It is also, sadly, an insurance policy against the unpredictability of applications like Blogger, who may at any time start charging originators for sites that used to be free. This will be one of a handful of sites that must be kept regardless, even if others have to be abandoned.

The word ‘Brand’ is deliberately provocative but also useful in places like the Kindle world in ways I will explain as we go.

There are posts, of course, intended as a guide to what is and will be here through time and why. Some posts will be personal. There are also Pages, here termed Content Categories, devoted to providing links to works available online in multiple media. Individual categories will also described, explained, put in their appropriate context by posts, so if names overlap it’s a feature not a bug.

The keyword search feature is functional for posts, which contain their own links to pages. 

Since this is the first post I don’t everything about how things will work here. For example, I’m not yet sure how and where everything will be displayed on the screen. I’ll try to fill in that information as we go.
